So I've never been to a Honduran restaurant but I saw this spot while riding along Stumpf Blvd. in Gretna serving breakfast. They are a small and quaint storefront establishment, friendly, practicing social distancing and have a plastic partition separating staff from customers. Also, seating capacity is limited and tables are blocked off from use. Because I absolutely love Spanish food, particularly tacos lol, I popped in to check them out. I was hoping I'd find what I love in Miami and it's the Papas Rellenas aka (Fried Stuffed Potatoes). It's a Cuban dish but they are so doggone good. They have this savory and flavorful seasoned ground meat stuffed inside a ball of mashed potatoes and when I tell you they are the bomb, believe me lol. Needlessly to say, they are Honduran and do not cook Cuban dishes lol. However, I'm planning to come back and check out their dishes for either lunch or dinner. I'm eyeing the Burritas Catrachas (the Yelp Spanish event is working me lol). Check them out if you're in the area!
I came for my first time today and I literally almost ordered half of the menu absolutely everything I ordered was DELICIOUS! I had the Honduran Sandwich which is a shredded chicken sandwich with a coleslaw like cabbage inside, it was so good, the Hot Dog was HUGE! It's pretty much 2 hot dogs in one with a special cole slaw type cabbage on type with pickled onions OMG Delicioso!!! I had a nuegano order which is a type of dessert made from yucca with a special sauce on top, that was delicious!!The fruit cocktail is made with fresh fruit and is so refreshing, I had a corn atole which is a kind of thick corn drink and OMG talk about DELICIOUS!!!! I also bought a few coconut squares home and they are so delicious! Let me just say that I am HOOKED!!!
